July 2010 Statistics
FISH distributed 41,526 pounds of food to 565 households, or 1,556 individuals, during July-down slightly from the June 2010 record. Clients in July included 88 children 2 and younger, 467 children between 3 and 18 years, 772 adults between 19-54, and 229 adults 55 and older. Food bank volunteers boxed up and distributed a total of 13,842 food bank meals and served 361 individuals at the MWF hot lunches during July. Home deliveries of food boxes increased to 41 this month.
The local Fred Meyer, through Kroger Grocers, donated funds for two energy-efficient cooler/refrigerators, which are now installed and in use. Donations of food items from the Ellensburg community and surrounding area reached 25,533 pounds this month.
June 2010 Statistics
In June a total of 586 households or 1,623 individuals -the new record fornumbers-received supplemental food assistance at FISH Food Bank. FISH distributed 43,922 pounds of food (another record-breaker) to these needy, who included 97 children 2 years andunder, 495 youths between 3-18, 797 adults between 19-54, and 234 seniors, 55and above. By the end of the month, food for a total of 14,418 meals had been distributed.
May 2010 Statistics
FISH Food Bank provided food boxes to 488 households this month--47 of them brand new to the supplemental food program. Altogether, in May FISH served a total of 1,357 people, including 66 tots two years old and under, 437 children between 3-18, 648 adults between 19-54, and 206 seniors 55 and older. The home delivery program continues, as well, with 30 deliveries made to homebound clients this month. MWF hot lunches served 321 people, including several homeless individuals.
FISH food boxes provided 12,114 meals and distributed 36,342 pounds of food. Food donations from the Ellensburg community alone reached 40,837 pounds, thanks to FISH member churches, Ellensburg grocers and many, many individual donors and volunteers. Thank you, again, Ellensburg and Kittitas County.
April 2010 Statistics
FISH food bank served an all-time record number of families this month: in April 568 households, including 1,652 individuals, received supplemental food boxes. Of these households 83 were new to FISH. Overall, 94 of those receiving assistance from FISH were children 2 years old and under; 543 were aged 3 to 18; 780 were adults from 19 to 54, and 235 were seniors 55 and older. An additional 35 homebound deliveries were made by FISH volunteers to those in need who can not get to the food bank themselves, and 393 people were served the MWF hot lunches. During April a total of 44,631 pounds of food--the equivalent of 14,877 meals--were distributed, creating another all-time high.
March 2010 Statistics
Numbers of clients served seem to be on the rise again. In March FISH provided food boxes for a total of 539 households, or 1,395 individuals, including 79 children aged 2 and younger, 416 youths between 3 and 18, 679 adults between 19 and 54, and 221 seniors 55 and older. Of the individuals served this month, 150 were new to the food bank. Deliveries to the homebound continue, and during March, 39 deliveries were made. The Monday, Wednesday and Friday hot lunches also continue, with 476 hot lunches served during the month. Altogether, a total of 37,422 pounds of food went out to clients in March and 12,474 meals were provided.
February 2010 Statistics
FISH Food Bank fed 449 households during February. That is down by 100 compared to November 2009, so, thankfully, the number of individuals served has begun to decrease from winter needs, even though 60 of the February households (185 individuals) were new on the records for this Fiscal Year. This month 77 food bank clients were two years old and under, while 382 were between ages 3 and 18, 578 were between 19 and 54, and 180 were 55 and older--a total of 1,217 individuals.
In serving February clients, FISH gave out 32,859 pounds of food in boxes packed with the equivalent of 10,953 meals. Food donations from FISH's sponsoring churches totaled 1,419 pounds of food, while local grocers and restaurants donated 13,198 pounds and area businesses/organizations gave 11.571 pounds. A total of 378 people—up again this month—were fed at MWF hot lunches, and the Saturday night dinner and Homebound delivery programs continue to serve and grow. /p>
January 2010 Statistics
A total of 512 households -- or 1,386 individuals -- received food boxes totaling 12,483 meals during January, and 52 of those families were new to FISH. Of the individuals served, 89 were two years old or younger; 423 were between 3 and 18 years of age; 671 were adults between 19 and 54, and 203 were 55 years old or older. Homebound deliveries numbered 36 this month, and the MWF lunches served 396 people. Overall, FISH volunteers distributed 37,449 pounds of food this month to city and county residents.
December 2009 Statistics
December households in need of supplemental food decreased by 11, with 548 families served, including 109 children 2 years and younger; 485 between 3 and 18; 676 between 19 and 54, and 216 individuals aged 55 and older. Of those 1,486 total individuals served, 227 were new to FISH. Thirty-six individuals received Homebound food boxes this month, and the number of MWF hot lunches jumped by 100 to 355 people served. Overall, FISH distributed 40,149 pounds of food and 13,383 meals.
November 2009 Statistics
FISH food bank served a record number of families once again: in November 559 households, including 1,566 individuals, received supplemental food boxes. Of these households 83 were new to FISH. Overall, 94 of those receiving aid from FISH were children 2 years old and under; 498 were aged 3 to 18; 742 were adults from 19 to 54, and 232 were seniors 55 and older. An additional 39 homebound deliveries were made by FISH volunteers to those in need who can not get to the food bank themselves, and 252 people were served the MWF hot lunches. During November a total of 42,201 pounds of food were distributed.
October 2009 Statistics
FISH Food Bank provided food boxes to 526 households this month--76 of them brand new to the supplemental food program. Altogether, October families served by FISH totaled 1,396 people, including 84 tots two years old and under, 420 children between 3-18, 673 adults between 19-54, and 219 seniors 55 and older. The homebound program continues, as well, with 34 deliveries made to homebound clients this month. The MWF hot lunches served 287 people, including several homeless individuals.
FISH food boxes provided 12,573 meals and distributed 37,719 pounds of food. Food donations this month were nearly 40,000 pounds, thanks again to FISH member churches, all the Ellensburg grocers and many, many individual donors. FISH volunteers put in 944 volunteer hours. Thank you, again, Ellensburg and Kittitas County.
September 2009 Statistics
Numbers of clients served remain high as falls cool weather comes around. In September FISH provided food boxes for a total of 519 households or 1,361 individuals including 73 children aged 2 and younger, 429 youths between 3 and 18, 629 adults between 19 and 54, and 230 seniors 55 and older. Of the individuals served this month, 332 were new to the food bank.
Deliveries to the homebound continue, and during September, 34 deliveries were made. The Monday, Wednesday and Friday hot lunches also continue, with 283 individuals being served hot lunches during the month.
Altogether, a total of 36,801 pounds of food went out to clients in September and 12,267 meals were provided.
August 2009 Statistics
FISH Food Bank served 490 households this month including 1,327 individuals, 377 who were new to the food bank. Of these individuals, 95 were children aged 2 and under, 410 were between 3-18 years, 610 were between 19-54, and 212 were aged 55 and over.
Hot lunches on MWF fed 236 people during the month, and 37 clients received their food boxes through FISH's new home delivery program. A total of 35,883 pounds of food was distributed this month, and 11,961 meals were provided.
July 2009 Statistics
The Food Bank fed 519 households in July totaling 12,717 meals that served 1,411 individuals. Clients this month included 79 toddlers and infants aged 2 and under, and 237 seniors aged 55 and older.
At the end of the month, FISH had distributed a total of 38,151 pounds of food. Homebound deliveries continue in the hot weather, and hot lunches for those unable to cook for themselves are well attended (Monday, Wednesday, Friday from about Noon to 1:30 p.m.

June 2009 Statistics
Numbers of clients needing help with food at the Ellensburg FISH food bank hit an all-time high in June: 520 families (61 new this year), totaling 1,386 clients, received food enough for 12,564 meals--or 37,964 pounds of food.
Thank you, Ellensburg, for your donations. Included in these numbers of needy are 91 children aged 2 and under, 424 between 3 and 18, 646 adults between 19 and 54, and 235 seniors 55 and over.
Most important, though, is the new and OPEN soup kitchen. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday FISH serves lunch from about noon to 1:30 to any one who does not have the means to cook or provide for themselves. Anyone who would benefit from this will be welcome. Volunteers in the kitchen are also welcome (they'll need a county food handler's permit).
May 2009 Statistics
FISH Food bank fed 443 families during the month of May, and 58 of those families (151 individuals) were new on the records. A total of 86 clients were two years old and under, while 322 were between ages 3 and 18, 513 were between 19 and 54, and 221 were 55 and older--a total of 1,136 individuals.
In serving May clients, FISH gave out 32,562 pounds of food in boxes packed with the equivalent of 10,854 meals. May donations from FISH's 13 sponsoring churches totaled 1,199 pounds of food, while local grocers and restaurants donated 13,742 pounds and area businesses/organizations gave 4,074 pounds. The 2009 Post Office Food Drive gathered 3,624 pounds in their Mother's Day weekend drive. FISH volunteers, board members and clients are continually grateful for these ongoing donations.
April 2009 Statistics
In April 2009 494 households (63 new) were served food boxes for a total of 11,052 meals.
April clients included 1,225 individuals consisting of 74 children ages 2 and younger, 345 children and youths ages 3 and 18, 564 adults between ages 19 and 54, and 242 adults 55 and older. A total of 33,156 pounds of food were distributed. Donations and pledges continue coming in, and the Food Bank thanks to the Ellensburg community is well stocked.
April food donations included 33,532 pounds from area grocers and restaurants and an additional 6,282 pounds from FISH sponsoring churches, community individuals, Twin City Foods and CWUs football team. Again, many thanks.

February 2009 Statistics
During February 2009 FISH Food Bank served 432 households and 1,068 individuals, which included giving out 28,944 pounds of food in 9,648 meals.
Among February's clients were 63 children aged two and under, 302 children and youths between the ages of 3 and 18, 519 adults between the ages of 19 and 54, and 184 seniors (aged 55 and over).
Over $20 thousand in food pounds was donated by area grocers and food distributors during the month; local churches and their members donated over $2,500 in food pounds, and other area organizations donated over $2,700 in food pounds.
FISH is ever-grateful for these blessings!
January 2009 Statistics
Numbers of clients at FISH Food Bank have increased for the second month in a row: In January 74 new households needed food boxes, bringing the total served last month to 486 households and 1,332 individuals.
January numbers included 76 children ages two and under, and 158 seniors. In the new food bank facility at Snickelldoodles, serving so many is much more efficient, and storing frozen foods, as well as other food donations, is much easier now with the walk-in cooler/freezer.
Cash and food donations from individuals and stores continues to increase, as well. In January, 36,018 pounds of food were distributed to food bank clients. That's 18 tons of food! Thank you, Ellensburg!

Thanks to our many volunteers for their hard work! Over 60 attended the July Appreciation Picnic and enjoyed BBQ burgers and cake.
